Aprenda a usar o tempo passado em inglês em frases afirmativas (verbos regulares)

Introdução: verbos regulares e irregulares

No inglês, os verbos no passado se dividem em dois grupos principais.

Verbos regulares

Seguem um padrão fixo de formação do passado, na maioria dos casos, adicionando 'ed' ao verbo no infinitivo:

verbo + ED

open (abrir) → opened (abriu)

talk (falar) → talked (falou)

Por exemplo:

I talked with my friends yesterday. → Eu falei com meus amigos ontem.

Verbos irregulares

Não seguem um padrão fixo para formação do passado, por isso precisam ser memorizados:

go (ir) → went (foi)

eat (comer) → ate (comeu)

see (ver) → saw (viu)

Por exemplo:

I went to school yesterday. → Eu fui na escola ontem.

Nesta lição focaremos nos verbos regulares. Observe abaixo as regras de formação do passado para estes verbos.

Regras dos verbos regulares

Regra geral: Adiciona-se 'ed' (+ED) na forma infinitiva do verbo (exceção para os verbos terminados em 'consoante + y', veja abaixo).

open (abrir) → opened (abriu)

rain (chover) → rained (choveu)

start (começar) → started (começou)

talk (falar) → talked (falou)

walk (andar) → walked (andou)

Verbos terminados em Y:

Consoante + Y → Retira-se o 'Y' final e adiciona-se 'IED':

study (estudar) → studied (estudou)

Vogal + Y → segue a regra geral (+ED)

play (jogar) → played (jogou)

Verbos terminados em consoante-vogal-consoante (CVC) e a última sílaba é a mais forte.:

Se o verbo terminar em CVC e a última sílaba for a mais forte, dobre a última consoante e adicione -ED.:

stop (parar) → stopped (parou)

plan (planejar) → planned (planejou)

Exemplos com frases afirmativas

I opened the door. → Eu abri a porta.

She opened the window yesterday. → Ela abriu a janela ontem.

We played soccer. → Nós jogamos futebol.

He played video games last night. → Ele jogou videogame ontem à noite.

It rained yesterday. → Choveu ontem.

It rained in the morning. → Choveu de manhã.

The class started at 8 a.m. → A aula começou às 8h.

They started the project. → Eles começaram o projeto.

I studied for the test. → Eu estudei para a prova.

She studied English yesterday. → Ela estudou inglês ontem.

We talked after school. → Nós conversamos depois da escola.

He talked to his friend. → Ele conversou com o amigo.

I walked in the park. → Eu caminhei no parque.

They walked to school. → Eles foram a pé para a escola.

We stopped the project because we planned a new strategy. 594; Nós paramos o projeto porque planejamos uma nova estratégia

5. Observação importante

No passado simples afirmativo, o verbo não muda de acordo com o sujeito. A mesma forma é usada para todas as pessoas:

They opened

Yesterday was a very interesting day. I was at home in the morning, and I usually study at that time, but yesterday I was feeling a little tired. Even so, I studied English for my test while my brother was playing games in the same room. He does not like to study in the morning, so he always plays or watches videos. After some time, I opened my notebook and started a new lesson.

In the afternoon, I talked to my friend and we played soccer in the park. The weather was nice at first, but later it rained a little and we walked back home together.
