Nesta lição vamos praticar a formação do passado em inglês, incluindo frases negativas e interrogativas. Utilizaremos o verbo 'to be', verbos regulares e verbos irregulares

1. O Verbo 'To Be' (Was/Were)

O verbo to be descreve estados, sentimentos ou localizações no passado. Ele não utiliza auxiliares como "did".

Forma Afirmativa

• I was a dedicated student during my high school years. → Eu era um estudante dedicado durante meus anos de ensino médio.
• The documents were here on my desk a few minutes ago. → Os documentos estavam aqui na minha mesa alguns minutos atrás.
• He was at home waiting for the important phone call. → Ele estava em casa esperando pela chamada telefônica importante.
• You were very happy with the results of the project. → Você estava muito feliz com os resultados do projeto.

Forma Negativa

Estrutura: Was/Were + Not (Wasn't / Weren't)

• I wasn't a student at that university last semester. → Eu não era um estudante naquela universidade no semestre passado.
• The children weren't here when the party started. → As crianças não estavam aqui quando a festa começou.

Forma Interrogativa

Estrutura: Was/Were + Sujeito?

• Was he at home alone when the lights went out? → Ele estava em casa sozinho quando as luzes se apagaram?
• Were you happy with your performance in the presentation? → Você estava feliz com seu desempenho na apresentação?

2. Verbos Regulares e Irregulares (Did)

Na afirmativa, o verbo muda (-ed ou irregular). Na negativa e interrogativa, o DID assume o tempo verbal e o verbo principal retorna à forma original.

Forma Afirmativa

• I studied for the chemistry test all night long. → Eu estudei para a prova de química a noite toda.
• The little girl cried during the entire movie. → A garotinha chorou durante o filme inteiro.
• He copied the homework because he was late. → Ele copiou a lição de casa porque estava atrasado.
• We worked on the new marketing project yesterday. → Nós trabalhamos no novo projeto de marketing ontem.
• They went to the central park to exercise. → Eles foram ao parque central para se exercitar.
• You ate the green apple after lunch. → Você comeu a maçã verde depois do almoço.

Forma Negativa

Estrutura: Subject + Didn't + Verbo Base

• I didn't study enough for the final test. → Eu não estudei o suficiente para a prova final.
• She didn't cry despite the sad news. → Ela não chorou apesar das notícias tristes.
• He didn't copy the homework from his classmate. → Ele não copiou a lição de casa de seu colega de classe.
• We didn't work yesterday due to the holiday. → Nós não trabalhamos ontem devido ao feriado.
• They didn't go to the park because of the rain. → Eles não foram ao parque por causa da chuva.

Forma Interrogativa

Estrutura: Did + Subject + Verbo Base?

• Did you study English before moving here? → Você estudou inglês antes de se mudar para cá?
• Did the baby cry a lot during the last night? → O bebê chorou muito durante a noite passada?
• Did they copy the text from the classroom board? → Eles copiaram o texto do quadro da sala de aula?
• Did you eat the apple I left on the table? → Você comeu a maçã que deixei sobre a mesa?
